Proper Attire for presentations and moot court in law school

 http://www.thecitrusreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/Picture-79.png

This a topic that I have not discussed, but it is relevant. Now, I know there are students or law students out there that they because they are not working they think can go in beach shorts or tank tops or wear flip flops or thongs as they are called. If you are going to do a presentation like negotiation or moot court, you need to dress up like you really in court.  If you are saying, why are you telling us this? Well, the reason is two fold.

I have seen people show up for a moot court presentation dress wrong and was there a support for my friend in a real court room. There was one guy show up in beach shorts and flip flops. He thought that he didn't need to dress up and thought it was ok. The judge was a REAL federal court of appeals judge that sent him home. It was embarrassing.  Guys.. If you have long hair, gentlemen, just tie it back and don't be like the man in the picture above and make sure it is kept neat. Being clean and neat is crucial and determines how you feel about yourself. Gentlemen, you should dress up in suit and tie like this
http://cdncf-au.fluidretail.net/customers/c1467/32/10/-3/01/43/4/3210-301434_detail/main_variation_BLACK_view_01_330x430.jpg

Ladies, dress like this for court. How you dress determines how you feel and the kind people you will have to deal with the real world. Pretty much like this.

Let clue you in on piece of information about situation where the women were not wearing the right clothing for court. A judge sent a female lawyer home for not wearing the right attire. Here is the link to the article about it.

Wearing the wrong clothes for court

In Australia, You can go to Myer and David Jones

In Australia, here is the link to David Jones and Myer below:

David Jones

Myer

In the US, You have Macy's and Nordstrom's

Macy's

Nordstrom's

If you shop at those stores, you can pretty much find the right attire for court. Just treat it like the real deal of representing a client in court.

The other part is attitude. Your attitude pretty much reflect how you treat others and how you feel about your yourself. The best advice is be yourself and don't act cocky, snobbish or arrogant because of going to law school. Try to sympathize with your fellow classmates and dress for success. Just be humble. I can recommend additional retailers carrying only suits for men and women if you are interested. Just contact me if you want the additional information.

In the business world, you are expect to carry certain amount of professionalism. You have to dress the part. People will come to expect it.Well, this is my two cents on the subject. I hope and wish all the success in school and in life.

I enjoy this kind of stuff. It make the experience funny. It makes it bearable. No matter.. Just enjoy. It is a bit of law school humor. I will find stuff like the because the experience to law school in another country should exciting and not boring. The most important is being a law student should be enjoyable.
This another I cam across that fit the funny bone department. Just and relax. Happy Holidays.

Goooood Morning America,

http://designlap.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/lion_2_by_vertical_misfit-d4qocxn.jpg

I was to let the people in the US know that this blog is set up for them. It is not just an Australian blog about Australians going to law school. It is about an American wanting to law school and wanting see a different country.I want to put information and give Americans out there an opportunity to explore other options than the standard advice given to prospective students. It is not being presented. I want this to be an information source for you the read and give you the opportunity to see things from a different prospective. I want to give you another prospective and show that is possible to go a different route to get there and be a licensed attorney in the US. Plus, to be able to be licensed in Australia as well. Think about this if you have a lawyer licensed both the US and Australia, you will get a lawyer who has an international presence. This give that type of person over lawyers just educated only in US school and closing themselves off to a world of opportunity.

This blog is a good information tool and puts out quality information about getting a law degree that is useable in the US and in Australia. Plus, it tells how make and blend into Australian culture with a respect and dignity for it. I want more people to see what this blog can offer them a world of unlimited possibilities. I want people to free their minds and open to beyond a cage where see there is a much larger world. It is time free  minds that and unleash the entrepreneur build the community, and inspire people to think outside the box and challenge people reach beyond themselves to do great things.  This blog is about following your dreams to build better tomorrows for yourself. I want to present this as a source of inspiration and information. There are multiple ways of doing things that you don't have to accept things as they are.

It is about rising to the challenge when others say that is not possible and coming back wowing them at the end. It is about getting people to see beyond and see the bigger picture. It is about how success comes from failure. It is about personal growth and challenging the words "I can't" to "I can do it"

When other are crying failure and sadness in the media and other places, this blog is about hope and doing something about it. Showing that it can be done. It is time to be a noble lion  can roar and not a lamb. It is time strike fear in those who are corrupt. It is time restore the legal profession from a status of failure to one of nobility and honor. For too long, the profession in the US  forgot that it was to serve the people and not to unjustly enrich themselves  while hurting their clients through dishonest means and methods. Legal education in the US today has produced more Justin Biebers and Kim Kardashians that care not for their client and how to serve them best. Today students entering into law school can't tell you the name of the nine people who sit on the US Supreme Court. Nor can they read the opinions coming the court nor do they read the legislation coming from the house where laws are legislated. The legal profession in the US once held the position of nobility  and which was represented the fictional character of Atticus Finch. It was at one the most respected in the world. It has fallen by the waist side only to be concern about one's social rank and what your neighbor has rather concentrating on their client's cases. I am striving to become a noble lion and one that can't be bought nor corrupted. I believe it is time to restore the legal profession of a profession that is noble once again.

It is time be a people of honor and courage. It is time to be noble and upright. It is time to dream not be told that there is only one way in the face of adversity. It is time to set goals and dream big. This world is filled with opportunity. No man can stop an idea whose time has come.

Case Briefs for Aussie Law Students

http://www.lawschoolcartoons.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/Casual-Attire-2.jpg

Well, it time to start to include the most important part of this blog. I will start putting case brief template that can be used for law school. It is one of the ways this blog can put out the help. Because I am going prep for law school and exams. Because a law student not prepared is one that will pay for it later on in one's legal career.

The key to this kind of preparation to keep everyone going law school and get a feel for the law school environment. Also, I want help my fellow law students out there. Especially out in Australia. Because there is very little material to teach out brief a case and to do it well can come in handy at exam time. Also, I am getting in the habit of doing it now,so that I won't forget how to do it. The  good news as  far briefing is concern is that I am using John Delaney's how do legal Analysis. It shows how to brief. With regard to cases in Australia, you can multiple issues  related to a case and to break up the elements with case rules for each element followed by matching set of fact fo the case rule and element that it goes under. Here is the books that I am highly recommending as one law student to another law student.

Learning Legal Reasoning: Briefing, Analysis and Theory
By John Delaney

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/510N28MR9QL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_.jpgI know want to think like a lawyer and hit the ground running. This one of the many weapons that I will be using at law school.I am trying to is get a good handle being a good law student. I am hoping to be an even better lawyer when I do graduate.

I am always open to do the Australian version of Planet Law School. I think for the lack material not readily available and that can be free can help many people versus charging people sums of money and never give good information how to do an Australian law school exam and what is the format of it. Because there is very little material on it. It is like a big mystery. I am hoping to get some information out about the Australian law school exam format. Because every law school in every country has their exam answer format that is accepted for that particular country.

I want to get as much input from people who can point me in the right direction. I want help people entering into law school in Australia to prepare and to be able to hit the ground running. this my purpose. My end goal is to be a good lawyer and be able hand really tough cases. This why I am up for the challenge. I am going to use the Dragon Speak Legal Edition to help me brief my cases. I am recommend using it highly.

Dragon Natural Speaking Legal Edition

This is the way to approach to the law school environment. I am treating it as a business. Because working as a lawyer is having to think like a business owner. This mindset is one that I am very familiar with. I am going put somethings together,so that you who are going to be law students or already law students have the information. It is my way getting the information out for free. It will be free.Because who is better at understanding other law student than a person who is a law student. Paying it forward is one of the things that I can offer to other law students. I will try to get more info on the exam format so that you will know how to prepare for it and how to create and outline that is usable for the law school environment.Don't be afraid to contact me if you have information that I do not have. After all, I want this blog to be resource of information for law students. Just hit the contact button if you have any comments or questions because they are always welcomed. I will try to get to as many as I can.

Meaty Pie with Flair

The Aussies have own answer to the pot pie in the US. It is one that sure not to miss.It is called the Meat Pie. It is very similiar to a pot pie in many respects. This dish is an Aussie favorite through and through. I can attest to having eaten it first hand last night for supper.Generally, I like to find good food and one that is reasonable to affordable. This is the type of food that is more like comfort food than anything else. The smell of it coming out the oven reminds me of home and leaves you feeling full afterwards. For me being an American, just hearing about the Meat Pie was kind of different. I am always open to trying new kinds culinary delights in Australia. It is easy to make and fun as well to make. You will beg again for it every time.

    1 pound of ground beef
    1 onion, chopped
    1 cup water, divided
    2 beef bouillon cubes
    1/4 cup ketchup

    1/2 teaspoon oregano
    1 pinch nutmeg
    3 tablespoons plain flour
    2 puff pastry sheets

Directions:

Pre-heat oven at 425 degrees Farenheit.

Brown meat and onion in a fry pan.

Add 3/4 cup of the water, bouillon cubes, ketchup and Worcestershire sauce, pepper, oregano, and nutmeg.

Boil and cover for 15 minutes.

Blend flour with the remaining 1/4 cup water until it becomes a smooth paste; add to the meat mix.

 Let cool.

Grease a pie dish and line with puff pastry.

Add the cooled filling mixture; brush edges of pastry with milk or beaten egg; put the pastry top on; press edges down with a fork.

Trim edges and glaze top with milk or beaten egg.

Bake in a very hot oven at 425 degrees Farenheit for 15 minutes.

Reduce heat to 350 degrees Farenheit and bake for 25 more minutes, or until golden brown.

This dish is easy to make and can satisfy the hungry feeling. It is one that I had last night I can share with everyone. Cooking Aussie food for an American is an adventure in itself and is not that highlighted. It is secret is that so good and Aussie through and through. It leave with full tummy at the end. It is perfect the law student on the go.

As Fine as Wine in Australia

http://www.wineriesofaustralia.net.au/images/7.jpgAs I make the journey across Australia and between semesters in Australia, I want see the vineyards and get a sample of fine wines that I have heard about over the years. I heard that Australia produces some of the finest quality wines available. Each bottle is aged with the test of time and the grapes are harvested to their peak perfection.

I love get a sample of it and get that first harvest. I had been to vineyards to the US. For me, this is an opportunity to sample what Australia has to offer. It is taste what the land produces. You can sample it and have a person at the wine tasting pour it for you.

http://www.919wines.com.au/919_Wines/At_919_today%21_files/4H9A7992sm.jpg

A good wine is like a good meal that you can savor and brings back the zeal of living. It relaxes and frees us of the worries of the world. It is the one that I enjoy with my meal. I love watching the sun go down and having a meal and drinking the wine straight from the vineyard. It brings back the memories and toward better peaceful bliss.

The best part is if you can see everything from a skyward view and view with your own eyes. You can smell aromas of the vineyard. The wind in your hair. It is coming from Australia. It is warm summer day within jump away from reality to free you from the world.

http://d1vmp8zzttzftq.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Ballooning-Over-The-Yarra-Valley-Australia-651x659.jpg

Australia is the land of beauty that is quite unseen and has so much to offer. It is more than the sandy white beaches and the outback. It is a land that has sites unseen by the rest of the world. It is like a wine to be savor and bring back those fond memories yet to be remembered. This is why I hope to showcase it all in its entirety as a student at law school. It will be a journey to remember.
